„What remains of beauty when we take away everything society says it should be?“
I’m proud to share that two of my photographs will be exhibited at this year’s International Photo Festival Olten.
The series explores the theme of beauty attributes – questioning the ideals we grow up with, the ones we can challenge, and those we might redefine.
At the heart of this work is Rihan, a young woman from my second home, Genoa.
Rihan lives with Alopecia, a condition that causes complete hair loss – often accompanied by stares, prejudice, and whispered questions. Yet she radiates a strength and dignity that go far beyond physical appearance. For me, she embodies a beauty that is courageous, honest, and free. My photography is not about perfection – it’s about authenticity. About the strength found in imperfection. And the quiet power that comes from showing yourself fully.

Photography has been a part of my life for over 35 years—as a profession, a passion, and a way of life.
I live and work in Kaufbeuren/Bavaria, and Genoa/Liguria, where light and encounters inspire me again and again.
My pictures are about authenticity, atmosphere, and the moment in between when stories emerge.
