A tribute to “Thelma & Louise”

Sara is an Italian woman with a calm, natural presence. She is self-confident, clear-headed, and has a touch of rebellion about her. The setting was simple: dusty roads, an old Alfa, soft light, no big setup.

The idea for this series came from the mood of Thelma & Louise—two women who go their own way, independent and uncompromising. I am fascinated by this attitude. Determination and freedom.
For some time now, I have been focusing on strong women in my work. Not in a clichéd sense, but in their real, often quiet strength – in moments when they remain true to themselves without conforming to expectations.

With Sara, a photo series has been created that shows exactly that: no acting. Just light, movement, and a woman who is completely herself. In Tuscany, images were created that tell of freedom – quietly but clearly.

Photography has been a part of my life for over 35 years—as a profession, a passion, and a way of life.
I live and work in Kaufbeuren/Bavaria, and Genoa/Liguria, where light and encounters inspire me again and again.
My pictures are about authenticity, atmosphere, and the moment in between when stories emerge.
